Understanding Your Circuitry: Ajna

AJNA: an awareness and information processing center that governs the pituitary gland and is the seat of formulation: opinions, judgements, and points of view.

If you have this center DEFINED, the second triangle from the top will be colored in green; if it is UNDEFINED, it will be white, but will have gates coming off of it, and if completely OPEN it will be white with no gates coming off of it.

Characteristics of the Defined Ajna:

  • It is natural for you to formulate an opinion on things, to see things from a certain perspective
  • You are able to retain information and reliably call upon it when needed
  • How this energy expresses through you is dependent on the CHANNELS and GATES defined in your chart:

CHANNELS:

  • Acceptance, 17-62:
    • You have a knack for being able to explain the facts in a logical, objective way. You are able to back up your opinions and perspectives with actual data. Just be sure that you wait to be recognized and called upon for your opinion before sharing in order to be fully heard.
  • Structuring, 23-43:
    • You have a unique way of seeing things, and an eye for innovation and efficiency; you can almost be “ahead of your time” in a way. Just know that seeing things differently than the status quo is totally what you bring to the table. Be patient and wait for the invitation to share your unique perspective and it will be much more likely to be understood and well received.
  • Curiosity, 56-11:
    • This is the energy of always seeking and searching, not specifically to find something, but to be in constant process. It is really important to embrace the whole journey here and not be so outcomes driven. You may also be a conduit for new ideas and new ways of explaining the past; just be sure that you wait for recognition and the invitation before sharing or your message may not be heard or well received.
  • Abstraction, 47-64:
    • This is the energy of processing past experience in order to make sense out of it; to extract the wisdom out of it. It often takes time and a willingness to sit with the uncertainty at first to arrive at clarity later on.
  • Awareness, 24-61:
    • This is mentally exploring something in order to get to the bottom of it, to its essence or truth.
  • Logic, 4-63:
    • You are able to take complex and abstract concepts and follow the process that brings logic to them. You are able to see how the pieces might fit together and explore that.

GATES:

  • Opinions, 17: this is the beginning of the ideation process, the process of taking opinions and beginning to bring logic to them. There may be a tendency to want to express your opinions, but make sure you are waiting to be invited to share for them to be truly heard.
  • Insight, 43: you have a unique way of seeing things that can shift old ways of doing into new. It may take some time for you to be able to articulate this knowing in a way that can be met well; be patient for the right timing to share.
  • Ideas, 11: this is the energy of being a channel, a conduit for ideas. Just know that not all of them are meant to be actioned by you; follow your strategy and authority in order to gain clarity on which are yours to action and those you may give to others.
  • Realization, 47: this is the desire to have realizations; when you can surrender into deep trust that the answers will come, you can move forward as if they already have. If you get caught up on the logistics of how the answers will come, you can block your own flow.
  • Rationalization, 24: this is the energy of mental exploration of ideas. It is the recognition that ideas are malleable and can be played with to come to better understanding and a new way forward. Just know that your opinion must be invited in, in order to be truly well received.
  • Answers, 4: this is the energy of arriving at an answer, sometimes spontaneously and without reason. It is the energy of dispelling chaos and moving into a logical approach to the situation.

Characteristics of the Undefined Ajna:

  • Meant to be open-minded; not meant to have hard and fast opinions on things
  • Don’t worry about being certain; your strength is in your ability to see all sides of a situation
  • When you are living in alignment, you can easily pick up on what those around you are thinking
  • Remembering information can be challenging; it can feel like “in one ear and out the other”. Make sure you have a way to capture information you want to retain that doesn’t rely on memory alone.
As you can see, there is A LOT of information from any one energy center, and even any one gate in the bodygraph! Let the information sink in slowly, and always come back to following your strategy and authority when it feels overwhelming!
